Do you want to get more done, make better decisions, and impress the hell out of your boss? Wouldn't it be great if producing top-notch work felt effortless, you had time to start freelancing or to go back to school, or if you traded feeling busy for true effectiveness? Want to separate yourself from your peers, earn that promotion faster, or get a bigger bonus? If you're willing to put in the work, I can help get you there.
My name is Jeff Russell, and I want to help you take your career to the next level.
What benefits can you expect?
I realized that what I originally thought was my problem is the result of a different underlying problem. I would have continued throwing more resources and effort at the symptom instead of the problem. So you could say this is saving me time and money. - Vice President of Engineering & Financial Analyst
Do you wish you had laser focus, powerful drive, and blistering confidence? Coaching will help you develop these traits, which will let you make strategic decisions about what to do and when to do it - decisions that will translate into career success. To get you there, I’ll help you figure out tough questions like “what’s really important to me in my career?” and “how do I take control of my time?” Everyday challenges like feeling overwhelmed by busywork, distracted by trivia, or drifting through your day can mask the answers to these questions. As a coach, I’ll provide an outside perspective that will cut to the underlying issues producing those symptoms.
Who is YOUR coaching for?
Are you a new hire, newly promoted manager, or considering a job switch? Coaching will help you not only cope with these tricky transitions but take control and thrive. Even if you're happy with your job and don't have any major changes coming up, if you're looking to separate yourself as a top performer, I can help you get there.
Ambitious early and mid-career professionals have no shortage of drive to improve themselves, but often need a bit of help identifying and developing the specific skills and habits that will accelerate them past their peers and launch their careers to the next level. Unlike generic career advice, random tips and tricks, or mass-market how to’s, coaching is custom tailored to the areas that will produce the biggest results for you.
Every person has a different set of challenges that they are facing in their lives. Mine revolve around trying to find a path to success without having a map. - Entrepreneur & Software Developer
So what can a coach do for you? Have you ever driven somewhere and realized once you got there that you meant to go somewhere else? We all do things on autopilot sometimes, and it doesn’t always give us the results we want. A coach will provide an objective, outside perspective to help you see these hidden scripts, which will let you rewrite them and take control of where you’re headed.
Secondly, in order to most effectively learn, you need concrete, actionable feedback. When it comes to making career and personal development choices, the outcomes are often a long way off and hard to pin down. With a coach, you get someone personally invested in your success providing immediate feedback based on broad experience and proven frameworks.
In short, a coach helps you take control of your route and makes sure you stay on it. The result? You get where you want to go faster.
Who is your coaching NOT for?
If you're satisfied with where you are professionally, if you aren't willing to hear honest feedback and address it, or if you won’t put in some work to make a change, I probably can't help you.
What does coaching look like?
Each coaching engagement is customized to your particular needs, but it will typically proceed through the following steps:
Objective: Define the goal that will produce the most powerful results for your career and your life.
Mission Planning: Take control of getting to your objective with a detailed coaching roadmap that spells out regular activities, milestones, and ways to overcome the challenges that will crop up along the way.
Execution: While you do the work, you’ll receive ongoing personalized attention to see how you're progressing and address challenges as they appear.
Debrief: Once you achieve your objective, we’ll assess what worked and what didn’t and figure out the best way for your to build on what you’ve accomplished moving forward
During the course of the engagement, we’ll have regular conversations to discuss progress, and I’ll be constantly on call whenever you have questions or need a hand. You keep me around only as long as you’re getting value.
Can’t I just figure this stuff out on my own?
If you’re even considering hiring a coach, chances are pretty good that you’re an effective, capable person used to getting stuff done on your own. You might be asking yourself why you need a coach at all.
The fact is, you might not, and I say more power to you. Here’s a way you can give it a test: set yourself a tangible goal to accomplish in the next 6 months and put it on your calendar. When the reminder pops up, if you haven’t achieved the results you hoped for, or you get stuck along the way, I’ll be here ready to help however I can.
